Work and Play and Everything in Between
Once upon a time I kept a blog because I had a cool job. Now there's just no excuse for it.

Well, no posts for a week. Sorry, but I got this flu kinda thing and have been feeling miserable. Finally shook it off by Wednesday or so, so that's good. It's definfitely been an interesting week at the office. On Wednesday, Mike the talent intern starting training me for his position. I will have to say that it has been the most uncomfortable situation I have had the pleasure (or maybe I should say displeasure) of being in. He was constantly standing over my shoulder, telling me what to do. That would be fine, since he was "training" me, but he was taking it way too far. As far as telling me how to remove a staple from some papers so I could make correction to a contract. Or showing me the advantages of white-out. Come on dude, I wanted to say. I DID graduate from junior high and did I forget to mention that I have completed a college degree, not once, but TWICE. Maybe he fells that since he had trouble with these concepts, the assumption can be made that I will to. Who knows. Maybe he's just a jackass. (ok, he IS, no maybe about it)

So after the thorough training that I have received, things have been going well. Here's a description of my new duties:
- answer phones for the talent executives
- once a celeb is booked, I call their contact people and get their payment info (copies of passports, driver's licenses, that kind of stuff)
- type out contracts once I get all the info
- answer the phone some more
- open the mail (which may seem like an easy task and it is, but they get 10-20 packages a day with all kinds of stuff, from tapes for people that want to get booked to fruit, still don't know what dirty pears have to do with a movie premiere)
- sometimes go down and meet the celebs at their car and escort them up to the studio
- a BUNCH of busy work, like making copies of the monthly calendar and distributing them to all the people in the office as well as all over the building
- and finally, answer the phone some more!
