AGAIN, I am sorry that I haven't written in a while... things have been pretty "normal" but I guess normal is relative when you are working at Late Night. I have been ACTIVELY searching for jobs with absolutely no avail. Not a single phone call in response to probably about 10 to 15 jobs I have applied for. I am pretty sure that I can get into the Page Program at NBC, which is basically giving tours until I get an assignment which could be at my show, SNL, and some others at NBC. It's an excellent opportunity as well as it gives me the chance to be in the building if a job comes open at late night.
Things with the show have been great. I've been working with Sara more now that Kristina is gone on maternity leave, so things are much more fun. =) Yesterday I went to drop off a tape at FOX right across the street. When I was walking back there were cop cars EVERYWHERE and they wouldn't let people cross and they had shut down the street. Turns out that someone called the bomb squad because of a suspicious package. When I finally made it back up to our floor and looked out the conference room windows, we had front row seats to the squad releasing the dogs on the "package" and they suited up this guy (who ended up looking like an astronaut when they were done) who then opened the "package" right there on the street..... and what do you know... there was NOTHING in it.
Less than 3 weeks left for the show and people are slowly trickling away. A few good friends have already left and it's getting kinda sad. I never imagined that I would be sad about leaving a job that I dont get paid for and have lived halfway across the country from my hubby.
